First Robots Used by Nova Post: What They Look Like and What They Do

Robots are already deployed across several major logistics depots.
Nova Post is actively introducing robots for sorting parcels.
The news reported was by the company’s press relations service
“These robots allowed to double the speed of sorting small parcels. We are currently using 272 sorting robots,” the press release states.
The company uses different types of robots depending on parcel weight. For small parcels (up to 2 kg), sorting operations utilize a train-type robot developed in collaboration with SBR. Pirouette robots built by Deus Robotics are used for sorting shipments of up to 30 kg.
The company also seeks to introduce more robotics for its cargo terminals.
“Robots at the sorting terminals help increase productivity without any additional workload for the personnel,” explained the press release.
Robots currently operate in the cargo and small parcel areas in 20 sorting centers and are expected to be introduced at 10 additional facilities by the end of the year. Robots are already in use across 14 depots within a large-scale logistics network.
According to UNIAN, Nova Post has announced plans to build a new sorting terminal. The project is estimated at approximately $30 million.
